The Porsche Cloud Experience program streams cloud tunes
NewBay Software provides an innovative SyncDrive cloud solution deployed by operators around the world.

Acquired by RIM Blackberry in 2011, Newbay offers mobile operators a white label cloud content solution for consumers. Consumers can store your music, pictures, video, and other files in the cloud for access from anywhere. Apparently RIM will be smart enough to provide the service on their BlackBerry devices similar to Apple iTunes. Currently NewBay folks flex muscles on BlackBerry Playbook mounted in the car’s dashboard to allow drivers access content through the touch screen graphical interface.
Obviously, the service relies on wireless Internet access for real time consumption and we see potential for telcos to increase their data services revenue by jumping on board to provide better and more reliable data pipe.
Another possible direction to explore would be data compression for companies like Aspera or Riverbed to provide Ottawa’s QNX with their WAN optimization solutions to allow richer user experience like HD video streaming.
